Big Wahoo Abound at Port Lucaya Marina
The Big Wahoo returned to the waters around Grand Bahama Island, site of the 4th and last leg of the 2006-2007 Bahamas Wahoo Championship.

On the first day of fishing, “Fly’n Loe”, a 57’ CBY captained by Pat Alloe out of Palm City, Florida set the tone for the tournament when they weighed in a 94 and a 81.5 pound wahoo on the first day of fishing, giving them a comfortable lead.

On the second day of fishing, Marshall Leeds, fishing the 41’ Albermarle “Svengali” answered right back by weighing in a 95 pound wahoo. This fish overshadowed a 76.5 pound wahoo caught by John Hynes’ “Predator”. At the same time ‘ Triple Crown”, a 36’ Yellowfin skippered by John Daly and Duane Gosset remained within striking distance by weighing two wahoo in the 40 pound range and two wahoo in the 50 pound range.

The third and final day was fished under nearly idyllic weather conditions. And what a great fishing day it turned out to be. “Svengali” weighed in another two monster wahoo, 76.5 and 63 pounds. “Bullheaded Too” tied the heaviest wahoo of the day with another 76.5 pound fish. “Zephyros” weighed in a 69.5 pound wahoo, “Triple Crown” a 65.5 pound wahoo, “Cloud Nine” one 60.0 wahoo, “Predator” a 59 pound wahoo and “Joint Adventure” a 58 pound wahoo.

At the end of the weigh-in, “Svengali” edged out “Fly’n Loe” by 18 points, 281.0 points to 263 points to win the tournament. “Triple Crown” was right behind them with 250.5 points and earned third place.
